Mount Pleasant Cemetery closed to public; City announces fine up to $5,000 for being within two meters of a stranger

Mount Pleasant Cemetery, the favourite venue for runners and walkers, has been closed to the public. "Due to physical distancing restrictions required to slow the spread of COVID-19, we regrettably must close our gates indefinitely. This decision was not made lightly but it has become necessary." The cemetery announced. Also, Mayor John Tory announced a new City bylaw that makes it illegal to walk within two meters of another person. not accompanying you,  in a public park or square. Fines can run as a high as $5,000. The requirement makes sense but we wish him luck trying to enforce it.
